Text Matching/Inspera Originality
Inspera Originality is the University’s text-matching tool (which replaced Urkund/Ourginal) and can be used by all teachers and researchers at the University to detect plagiarism.
What is Inspera Originality?
IInspera Originality is a text-matching tool that analyzes student texts against:
- Open internet sources
- Academic publications
- Previous student submissions
The tool identifies similarities and provides a basis for further assessment. It is a support tool – not a decision-making system – and should always be used with professional judgment.
How is the tool used?
Inspera Originality can be used:
- Standalone via Inspera Originality’s web interface
- Integrated in the digital examination tool Inspera Assessment and in the learning platform Canvas.
Login is done with a university account.
Responsibility and Access
- Students do not have direct access to Inspera Originality
It is the responsibility of the teacher or supervisor to perform text-matching checks
The tool should be used as part of a broader effort to prevent and manage plagiarism
