Environmental audit
On this page, you will find information about the environmental audit and what it means for your department or division.
To comply with the requirements of the regulation (2009:907) on environmental management in government agencies and the environmental management standard ISO 14001, Stockholm University must conduct annual internal and external environmental audits. At Stockholm University, two providers conduct the external and internal audits respectively.
External environmental audit
To maintain ISO 14001 certification, the university's environmental work must be reviewed annually by a third party through the external environmental audit. For an individual department (or equivalent), the external audit does not occur as frequently as the internal audit.
The most recent external audit was conducted in May 2024.
Internal environmental audit
The internal environmental audit is a way to review how the environmental management system is applied at the departmental level (or equivalent) and how the operation complies with internal and external requirements. The plan for the internal environmental audit spans three years and includes all departments and administrative offices. This means that departments (or equivalent) undergo an internal environmental audit approximately every three years.
The most recent internal audit was conducted in the fall of 2023.
