The University Library is tasked with providing scientific literature within the university's fields of study, both in analog and digital formats.

General mission

The library support the university's researchers and students with information resources and publishing.

The mission includes:

  • responsibility for Stockholm University Press
  • the university's central archive and registry
  • the head librarian also has a special role as the Vice-Chancellor's advisor on open science

Special assignments

  • Research data (infrastructure)

Areas of responsibility

  • Sub-portfolio responsibility for Research Support
  • Physical and electronic library resources
  • National and international role in the work on how data and open science are stored and made accessible
  • Support for the entire university in archive and registry matters, as well as responsibility for developing internal regulations on archive and document management
  • Overall responsibility for document management, archiving, and archive care at the university
