New portal makes reusing furniture easier
Återbruksportalen, the University’s new site for reusing furniture and equipment, is now being launched. Items no longer needed in one unit can quickly find a new use in another.

The reuse portal works much like Blocket – but here it is only about the university’s furniture and equipment. It is intended for the university’s departments and offices and cannot be used for private furniture.
‘We are lowering the threshold for reuse within the university. It becomes easy to do the right thing in everyday work,’ says Magnus Breitholtz, chair of Miljörådet.
Everything is now gathered online instead of at the central storage in Frescati. In the portal you can immediately see which furniture and equipment are available.
Återbruksportalen plays a key role in Lokaloptimeringsprojektet, helping the University use resources more efficiently. It is also an important part of the University’s long-term sustainability efforts.
‘Now everyone can contribute both to more sustainable development and to the university’s finances,’ says Jens Dahlman, Head of Section at the Property Management Office.
