Implementation of Lokaloptimeringsprojektet

On Thursday 12 September, the President decided to begin the implementation phase of the locale optimisation project. The aim is to create a more cohesive and vibrant campus with premises used more effectively and adapted to the needs of the university, both today and for the future.Ingress

The locale optimisation project started in autumn 2023 with a university-wide needs analysis. A feasibility study followed in spring 2024.

The project involves relocation and operational adjustments over a ten-year period. Affected organisations will be involved in each sub-project.

The decision on 12 September means that work will now begin in earnest and that there will be a comprehensive investment in the university campus. The background is to reduce the leased space at the university by using the premises more efficiently and co-locating certain activities that are currently located outside Frescati and Albano.

A better use of space will stabilise the university’s budget and reduce the climate footprint. At the same time, the university will create a cohesive and vibrant campus – a meeting place for leading research and higher education.

Information about the project will be regularly presented on the project page
