You can now use Printomat with a PIN or a card
Using Printomat has just become easier. You can now sign in to the printers with a personal PIN or by linking your own card. No special university card is required any longer. This change applies to both staff and students and will also result in annual cost savings for the University.
Previously, a university card was required to use the Printomat printers for printing, copying or scanning. From now on, you no longer need a special card for this. Instead, you can link your own card (for example, an access card or a public transport card) or simply use a PIN to sign in to the printers.
If you already have a university card, you can continue to use it as before.
The change also applies to students. The autumn semester of 2026 will be the first semester in which students can no longer order, nor need to order, a university card to access Printomat.
By no longer issuing university cards to students and staff, the University will save approximately SEK 300,000 each year. Reduced use of plastic and less postal handling will also help lower the environmental impact.
Students who would like a dedicated card for Printomat can collect one from Infocenter (Frescati) or Servicecenter (Albano).
