Yasmin Huque Andersson new Innovation Advisor at the Innovation Office
Since May, Yasmin Huque Andersson has been an Innovation Advisor at Stockholm University’s Innovation Office. She will support researchers and doctoral students in taking the next step with their ideas.

Hello there, Yasmin Huque Andersson!
You’re new as an Innovation Advisor at the Office for Research, Engagement and Innovation Services. Tell us more about your background!
– I have a background in life sciences, with a particular focus on drug development, and I hold a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry (from what is now MBW). I’ve worked as a researcher, project manager, and advisor—both within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and in academia at the Drug Discovery and Development platform (DDD) at SciLifeLab. This has given me broad experience, from early-stage research to application and commercialization.
That certainly sounds like things that will come in handy in your role as an innovation advisor. How do you hope to support researchers at Stockholm University, and what do you want to achieve and look forward to in your work?
– Since I have made the journey from academia to industry, I know what it takes to move from research results to starting to think in terms of products, applications, and target groups in order to create societal benefit. I’d like to support researchers in that process. I also look forward to contributing to discoveries reaching out and making an impact, as well as to exciting encounters across the university’s various faculties.
What inspires you in your work?
– I’m inspired by working with new science and ideas that have the potential to make a difference. What I find particularly exciting is when new solutions emerge through collaboration across disciplinary boundaries. I thrive in teams where people learn from one another, think innovatively, and drive development together.
