Questions and answers about Stockholm University's employee survey

Questions and answers about the 2026 employee survey

General information about the survey

The survey will be conducted between 9 March 2026 (8:00 a.m.) and 29 March 2026 (11:59 p.m.). On 9 March 2026, you will receive an email containing a personal link to the survey.

All employees, as well as scholarship-funded PhD students/researchers who work at least 50 % and are employed on 7 January 2026 and still employed on 29 March 2026, can respond to the survey.

Employees on full-time leave of absence, full-time sick leave, or full-time parental leave do not participate.

Participation is voluntary, but we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to make their voice heard. By participating, you contribute to important valuable in the work environment – both for yourself and your colleagues.

You can choose to complete the survey in Swedish or English. The results will be available in both languages.

The survey includes the following areas:

  • PhD students’ work and study situation (answers by PhD students)
  • working climate and stress
  • leadership (immediate manager and leadership at the department/equivalent)
  • harassment, sexual harassment, victimisation, threats and hatred.

The results at the overall university level will be presented to the university senior management and the AM-utskott (Employer/Employee Committee within RALV) in late Spring 2026.

The results for departments/equivalent will be available to all authorised managers from 20 April, 2026. The HR Office recommends that the full results be presented to all employees at departments/equivalent. The departments/equivalent will decide on the timing and format for the presentation.

The results for the area of PhD student´ work and study situation will not be reported at the department/equivalent level. These will be managed by the Office of Human Science and the Office of Science and presented in relevant forums.

Departments/equivalent analyse and address the results with support from the HR Office. The results should be collaborated within local RALV groups and lead to measures that are subsequently included in the department’s/equivalent annual ALV plan (Work Environment and Equal Opportunities Plan).

The university’s consolidated results will be analysed and managed within the framework of systematic work on work environment and equal opportunities.

The results concerning PhD students’ work and study situation will be handled by the Office of Human Science and the Office of Science.

Anonymity and security

Yes, all responses are completely anonymous. The employee survey is conducted by the University in collaboration with Quicksearch, which guarantees anonymity and confidentiality in the collection and handling of results.

Results are only displayed for groups with at least five responses (eight responses for scatter plots).

Although survey responses can be linked to a department/equivalent for the purpose of calculating response rates – neither Quicksearch nor Stockholm University can see what individual respondents have answered.

The email addresses are stored in Quicksearch’s database and assigned an indexed number. The distribution is carried out using these numbers, not the actual email addresses. This means that no one within the organisation can see any connection between an email address and a response.

Indexing is used solely to verify that all distributed surveys have been answered, not to identify individuals.

The reminder is sent automatically by the provider, Quicksearch, through its system. Each email address in their database is assigned an indexed number, and the system uses this number to check whether the survey has been completed – without linking it to individual responses.

This ensures that no one, neither at Quicksearch nor at Stockholm University, can see your answers. The indexing is used solely to send reminders to those who have not yet completed the survey.

Information security

The databases that handle both distribution and results are protected by secure firewalls and filters at Quicksearch. This ensures that no external part can access the information. All communication is encrypted.

Quicksearch guarantees that no one within our organisation can see whether you have participated in the survey or not. Likewise, no external part can access your individual responses.
