Whistleblowing
Whistleblowing means that you can report serious misconduct at Stockholm University. You can report via a web form, voicemail, or by requesting a physical meeting. Your report is handled by an external party (KPMG), and you may choose to remain anonymous.
You can blow the whistle if you suspect serious misconduct that is in the public interest.
This may include, for example:
- financial irregularities or corruption
- breaches of laws or EU regulations
- risks to life, health, or safety
- serious deficiencies in the organisation.
You do not need to have proof. A reasonable suspicion is sufficient.
Matters that concern only your own working conditions are handled through other channels.
The Whistleblowing Act does not apply to reporting classified security information or other information relating to Sweden’s national security.
Report misconduct (whistleblowing)
You report via the University’s whistleblowing function, which is managed by an external party (KPMG).
You can report in three ways:
- via the web form (SU’s whistleblowing function)
- via voicemail: 077-140 16 36
- by requesting a physical meeting via the web form or voicemail
Protection when whistleblowing
You are protected under the Whistleblowing Act when you report.
You can read more about your rights in the Act (2021:890) on the protection of persons who report misconduct. Available in Swedish only:
Lag (2021:890) om skydd för personer som rapporterar om missförhållanden (riksdagen.se)
