Accommodation for visiting researchers and doctoral students
Stockholm University rents and manages a number of furnished apartments, mainly on campus but also in other parts of Stockholm. The apartments are rented to international visiting researchers and doctoral students at Stockholm University.
The University only provides accommodation for guests staying for a minimum of three months. For shorter stays we refer to the framework agreements. There are currently several options available on avropa.se.
To find accommodation for stays of one week or more in furnished rooms/apartments with cooking facilities, we recommend using the search term "long stay" in combination with the desired area, e.g. "Stockholm".

About the apartments
We currently have just over 100 visiting researcher apartments of various types. There are simple rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom, studios of 20–45 square metres, two-room apartments and spacious three-room apartments. The apartments are located in several different areas.
Application form
International visiting researchers can apply for accommodation in university residences. There is no guarantee of accommodation, but if the applicant is flexible about the type of accommodation, an offer can usually be made within six months of completing the application.
However, there may be long queues at certain times of the year, particularly at the start of the semester. Therefore, applications for accommodation should be made well in advance.

Please note: The University only rents flats in blocks from property owners and we are not able to provide individual flats for short periods. If you have an apartment that you would like to rent out to visiting researchers or doctoral students. We refer you to akademiskkvart.se, a housing agency website.
