Call for funding: Digital human science research and research infrastructure

The Board of Human Science has decided on a special investment on various perspectives on digital human science – within humanities, social sciences, and law.

This may include, for example:

  • Theory and method development of digital artifacts, i.e., objects that are created, used, and stored in digital form, and their significance for humans and society
  • Studies of actors and their role in the digital society within human science
  • Social and legal aspects, responsibility and ethical issues
  • Interactions between people in digital systems and between people and digital entities
  • Digital human science research infrastructure, e.g., various types of databases, survey data, laboratories, or other research equipment.

The Board of Human Science announces funding in two categories:
  • Project support aimed at writing or revising grant applications to external funding agencies
  • Project support for initiating or building digital human science research infrastructure.

The Board of Human Science particularly encourages cross-disciplinary projects (both across faculties and/or departments), and/or research collaborations between junior and senior researchers. However, this is not a requirement for the application.

Financial support is not granted for ongoing activities, but rather for the development and initiation of new activities. Neither is support provided for salaries for professors, employees from the Science academic area, or employees at other higher education institutions than Stockholm University. Applications must be submitted to The Board of Human Science no later than December 4, 2025.
