Teresa, you have been appointed AI coordinator for human science. What is the purpose of, and background to the idea of establishing AI coordinators?
"The idea of an AI coordinator is to create a picture of the research conducted in the area so that universities can gain a better understanding of the questions and research problems related to AI that have been studied within the area of human science at Stockholm University. I will also participate in the interest group Regional AI Collaboration Meetings, where Stockholm University participates together with KTH, Stockholm City and Region Stockholm. The funcion of the AI coordinator can develop over time and also create a basis for advising on AI initiatives in the field.”
What will you be doing more specifically in your role as AI Coordinator?
”This semester I am working on creating an inventory of the different research initiatives related to AI within the human science area. The collaboration with the communicators and heads of departments is central here. The aim of the inventory is to be able to identify and describe the different themes – issues, research areas, knowledge gaps – discussed in different projects, both those that are externally or internally funded.”
”I also collaborate with Jens Jasche, who is the AI coordinator for science at Stockholm University. We meet regularly to exchange experiences and reflect on the AI research being conducted in our respective fields. We are both interested in AI-related issues and see a great need to create opportunities for Stockholm University to work more interdisciplinary when it comes to research on AI.”
