Webinar: Open Science and Research Data Management for New PhD Students

Webinar
Date: 2025-09-17
Time: 11:00 - 12:00
Location: Zoom

There are many things to learn as a new PhD student, both conceptually and practically. This webinar aims to put research data management, and scientific publication practices and requirements, in an open science context by drawing on the experiences of former PhD students.

Are you in the early days of your PhD? In this webinar, you will get an introduction to managing your research data and navigating the rapidly changing publication landscape. We will cover how to manage your data according to best practice, your rights and responsibilities as a student, and what support there is at the University.

What we want you to take away from the webinar is:

  • Publishing your research results (be it scientific articles or books, data, code, educational resources) is essential for scientific progress
  • Sound research data management - to collect, store, and preserve data in a secure and accessible way - is key to enabling successful publishing
  • Use the available support - The Research Data Management Team is here to help!

The webinar is aimed at PhD students in all fields, is given in English, and hosted by the Research Data Management Team.
