Checklist – special routines in case of student death

In addition to what is specified in the checklist if an employee or student has an accident or dies on campus, these special routines apply when a student dies.

  • Information about deceased students is automatically retrieved from the population register via the Student Register for persons who have a Swedish personal identity number and are registered in Sweden. For deceased persons, the information ‘(deceased)’ appears after the person's name in Ladok.
  • The Ladok system administration adds interruptions to all unfinished courses and programmes.
  • If it is a student who has a registration in the current semester or admission to the coming semester, the Ladok system administration notifies the course administration at the department concerned.
  • If the student has an expected participation in or is registered for a VFU course in the current year, the VFU secretariat is also notified, vfu@su.se.
  • The Ladok system administration notifies Stockholm University Library (for any book loans) kundservicechef@sub.su.se and notifies Stockholm University Student Union (SUS) kx@su.se.
  • The IT Services receives the information directly from the population register (in connection with student accounts).
